Christmas to Caroline will forever include the wish to see a production of the Nutcracker. Attending the ballet as a child and being enchanted by the story, stage and dancers enchanted her and no matter how many times she's seen it - it is Christmas embodied to her! (She's absolutely adamant however that she must see it BEFORE Christmas, a January show simply won't do!)
This years Luxe Advent theme is a nod to this love, and is inspired directly by the wonderful stage and costume designs of the English National Ballet and Dick Bird. The 2024 production brought an intricately created Edwardian London to life in Act 1, sharing the hustle and bustle of the streets and the luxury and grandeur of a festive ball. The inspiration for the colour palette (which will be laid out in a delightful fade as always) is taken from this concept of a Christmas ball. Using rich colours and textures found in the silk wallpapers of the day, luxurious fabrics and gowns and the tones of a traditionally dressed tree. It's safe to say Caroline has really enjoyed designing this one!
An advent really is just the perfect opportunity to get your hands on a long fade selection of yarns for a wonderfully luxurious Christmas project! This year there is again an option to add on full skeins of two additonal colourways designed to perfectly compliment the advent mini-skeins, available in ‘Dark Delights’ or ‘Candlelight’ (they're even available in skeins of fluffy laceweight!).
Available in limited numbers, the Gemstone Gradients advent will be presented in a bespoke, luxury Yarn Unique box which will contain 24 individually wrapped, 20g hand-dyed mini-skeins (a total of 480g of yarn!). The skeins will be in a surprise range of colours, with each skein following the skein before. You'll also find extra hidden gifts in there and a charming set of stitchmarkers!
The Suri/Silk Cloud base is 74% Suri Alpaca / 26% Mulberry Silk and has 600m per 100g.
Pay in installments? Orders placed before 25th July will have the opportunity to pay in 4 installments. Simply select the installment Plan listing for your chosen base and checkout, the remaining 3 (or 5) installments will be automatically charged to your payment method on the day of the month the original payment was made.
(Please note deposits are non-refundable and full payment is required before the advent will be shipped. A small surcharge is added to installment payments to offset the difference in postage fees the deposit only option attracts.)
All advents will be shipped early November to arrive in time for 1st December 2024. Please note, tracked delivery methods are recommended during seasonal periods as delays are common.
ARE YOU AN EU CUSTOMER? We cannot charge VAT on sales over the value of £135 and so full payment orders will be subject to fees and charges on arrival as per your own country's rates. If you opt for installment payments then VAT will be charged at the point of sale in checkout and your shippment will be sent under IOSS arrangements.
